Chipped the Bottom Paint at the Bow with the Anchor

Easily done pulling the anchor up in a swell with the boat bobbing about, so now I'm looking at a small patch where the antifouling has been scraped off approx 1" below the waterline.

Can I do anything to touch it up? Put the anchor/rode plus some chubby friends on the stern? Is there a bottom paint gooey enough, or perhaps a cunning way of applying some type of homemade cover and then removing the water around a few square inches.

Any ideas?

I'd just wait until the next haulout, but then I'm cheap.

Just wait until haul, who cares?

It's not as if one little chip in your antifouling is going to give way to a huge beard of mussels. At worst you will get some barnacles that will take ten minutes to rectify before the next coat of paint.

Much less effort invested than trying to do it in the water.

What is the tidal range in your area?

If it were me, I would run the bow op on a sandbar on a falling tide (a foot or two before low tide.... let the tide run out (if the range is not too great)... touch up the bottom paint. I know most paints specify more time before splash, but many times boats are lifted and the spots under the jack stands are painted shortly before splash and it has little effect on the efficacy of the paint.

There's an idea. I just wasn't confident in the 350 really. That big open salon. Who knows how it will handle being careened.
