Center of Gravity

As mentioned in earlier post am modifying a trailer for the boat. After mountains of measuring, it appears that the center of gravity on my Sovereign shallow draft 1987 24 footer is approximately at the point of mast attachment. Is this the expectation for most single masted sailboats?

I assume you are talking about the fore-and-aft location of the C.G.? Otherwise that is mighty high.... Anyway, that sounds rather far forward for a CG on most boats. I used to do a lot of amateur boat design, and the fore-n-aft CG almost always fell 55%-60% aft of the forward end of the waterline. Some modern very beamy transom boats may be aft of that. Most single-masted monohulls have the mast 30%-40% aft of the forward end of the waterline.
