Catalina Hull / Deck Seal ?

Sorry if this has been covered - I tried to search but got zero results.

Many have noted that the hull/deck joint on Catalinas is prone to leaking. What's the best way to fix it? Do I pull the rubber rubrail off and caulk the seam? How hard is it to get that rubber back in there?

Thanks!

John
