Cargo Ships That "Liquefy"

Figured I would share this for those who just enjoy geeking-out about all things boat-related. I read this article this morning - "The Cargo Ships that Liquefy" BBC - Future - The cargo ships that ‘liquefy’ - about the "liquification" of bulk cargo like bauxite ore or sand causing ships to list, lose stability, and sometimes sink.

Interesting article, but the concept of how solids "liquefy" was lost on me until I saw this video demonstrating how the forces work to severely list the ship.

It looks similar to the Free Surface Effect (slack tank) that can affect tankers.
