Well, I can't offer an opinion on its soul, but epoxy DOES suffer from UV degradation. Ask the Gougeon Brothers...

You can't just group epoxy. It will all be effected by uv as every material. Most high end epoxys have UV inhibiters I use one like this to make surfboards. Poly resin used to make your boat will break down in uv over time too.

I've not seen an epoxy that doesn't suffer UV degradation. If left clear it needs to be varnished and the varnish needs to be maintained or paint. A lot of guys even go to the extent of using a grey primer before paint to increase UV protection.

Yep randy that why I said most paint there masts. UV breaks everything down but I do Have a couple of clients boards that have been ridden for 4 years 5 days a week that are holding up well. They are some of the first ones I did with the newer uv inhibitors.
