Carbon Fiber Wishbone Boom Repair

I was out sailing yesterday in 10 to 15 kt winds and as I was turning to go downwind back to the marina, I heard a loud bang and my carbon fiber boom broke in 3 places and cracked where sections join at stern.
Do you think this is repairable?
Does anyone know where I could send boom for repair?

Irie,

Have someone fabricate it out of aluminum.
Every boat I have ever seen has aluminum and never heard of a problem with that.

Most cruisers replace their Carbon fiber rudder post because of catastrophic failure like this.

Irie,

As Cotemar said, your best bet is to go with an aluminum wishbone. Having a company manufacture one out of aluminum can be an expensive process. I would try contacting Mike Quill, who runs a sailboat repair business in Ontario. I've dealt with him before and he was extremely helpful and very reasonable. Here's a link to his website:

Welcome To Mike Quill Yacht Rigging Ltd.

best of luck,
cheers

Ted
