Can I paint Formica ?

Just about to Tackle another project on the Huckins .in the owner stateroom there are a number of small cubby holes which seem to have a Formica like material .

Question is it possible to paint theses and get a decent finish and if so has anyone any ideas as to which paint etc to use ??

Thanks

Re: Can I paint Formica??

When we bought our boat it had an ugly orange colored formica counter top. My wife hated it - I could care less but you know how it goes - so I painted it white - I used epoxy paint - forgot which brand - You gotta sand it down so you can get some bite - so far so good - holding up ok.

If you don't want to paint, there's this:
