Re: Cabin sole replacement

I was able to slide the new subfloor under the cabinet frames, with a seam in the middle of the floor. Take it apart slowly... decide as you go what the plan is.

Or C-385 has Lonseal, a faux teak and holly. We love it, looks real, and very durable. All Catalinas use it now. Maybe over marine plywood?

Re: Cabin sole replacement

Turns out the farthest forward stringer is rotten and the main bulkhead separating the settee and head is rotten. Unfortunately I due to that, I did not want to tear it all apart for repairs until I finish my other projects. I also have to rebuild the chain locker bulkhead aswell. Might as well tackle all sections forward of the saloon/settee in one go. Means I'll be able to update our head to be a bit more modern in appearance.

That being said, the wife will have to deal with the forward section of the boat to be a construction zone for a few weeks(ie month or two)

Lonseal looks pretty interesting! I'll be using marine plywood and will layer whatever I use over it. I assume it's a plastic like material?
