C&C 27ft Rudder Post Bushing

I have a 1972, 27ft C&C sailboat. The plastic spacer/bushing which supports the upper part of the rudder post as it passes through the cockpit deck has broken, allowing excessive movement of the rudder post.

Does anyone have any ideas for locating a replacement? The rudder shaft is 1 3/4", the hull deck opening is 2 1/2"

My C&C Redwing had the same problem when I bought it. I purchased a white, 5/8" thick plastic (don't know which? plastic) kitchen cutting board, cut and stacked appropriate sized do-nuts, fastened with #6 S.S screws. Still on the boat 22 yrs later.

Any machine shop can make you something out of delron probably quite affordably. Send them exact measurments or have them come measure it for you.... took about 30 minutes to make mine... 4 bushings 295.00 usd including materials.
