Busted Mast Step: Part Deux

Please refer to "busted mast step" in const. maint and refit for pictures of this project.

Yesterday I got a bit of an itchy trigger finger and put on a coat of biaxial fiberglass with West Systems 105 resin and 106 slow hardener when the weather man was calling for overnight lows of 28 F. It dipped down to about 32 and now, 24 hours later, that coat is still tacky to the touch. I am an idiot.

On West Stystems web sight they say that curing epoxy at temperatures below 60 F can lead to weak bonding.

Anyone had any experience with this? Am I in trouble?

I have since jury rigged a heat lamp (light bulb) to hang over the problem area and am awaiting a reaction.

I would contact West Systems directly about this but they usually take three day to get back. Is there anything I can do about this or do I have to grind down and start fresh?

I had to use a light or small heater in similar situations. You can also tent the area with plastic or cardboard to help hold the heat in. Just be sure there isn't a change to ignite anything.
