Building wall catamaran saloon to cockpit?

Have some thought about building a wall between saloon and cockpit on my catamaran. It is now an open layout where there is no doors. In the middle we have the galley and there we don't need anything more. But, on both sides of the galley it´s open and would have been nice building one wall with window and and one side with a door.

solid fiberglass? Plywood? paint or gelcoat? Building a mold or cut it?

Have a look at how seawind cats do it now. They are one of the best designs i have seen. they fold away completely to open the whole area up , but also fold away out of sight and take up only roofspace. Brilliant.

View from 4 mins onwards..

Re: Building wall catamaran saloon to cockpit?

it's your boat and your choice to build a wall but just keep in mind that when you make a radical change in a boat's design, you can destroy the value. A permanent wall is a radical design change. Most people want the open 'airy' feel inside a boat.
just a thought.
