Building the Dream

Well, here she is. Or what exists of her so far.
A 30' Woods Sagitta. Foam sandwich hulls and the rest in ply as I'm more
of a wood guy.

Sweet! Good luck finishing her out. Remember -- when you're 90% done, you're halfway there.

I built our 31' Cormorant (shallow-draft water-ballasted yawl), and at the end of a rather obsessed and exhausting two years of building, I told myself I'd never build another big boat. But like childbirth and running marathons, "never again" seems to fade pretty quickly. Now I find myself hankering after a cruising cat for our "retirement boat" . . .

Keep us updated as you go along.

I am into the construction of my second ocean sailor. My 26' sharpie doesn't count in this category, nor do the open boats shown on my profile page. I think it should read 'Building the Dreams' because the process itself is so addictive. Every time I build a boat, the juices start to flow and I start planning to build another - not necessarily bigger. The number at the moment is about twenty, depending on how you count them. Say 15 and five assists. If I can figure out how to post photos on the thread, I will do so.
