Buiding our boat - starting from scratch

Just a short note to inform the boat builders of this forum that we have put the photo album of the construction on line on:

Don't be afraid by the first comments in French, they are mostly photos and you don't need to be fluent in French to see them..

The construction tooks 10 years.. but we succeed! and after launching the boat, we have been traveling full time during 13 years..

"Bon courage" for all those who are still (steel?) building..

i would have spent more time on the site as boat construction sites are my thing but i got frustrated by not understanding what was written,
i mean really how many people can read that funny language anyway surely its just more convenient to use english anyway:-)

And I believe photos can speak for themselves. When I started to build the boat, I didn’t speak one word of English.. and since then I had also to learn a few other “funny” languages like Spanish and now Portuguese.. because many people speak them..

Now the site is written in four different languages,.. for people who doesn’t speak foreign languages.. but I promise you that the next boat I will be building, I will also take the photos in English..

Hi Sean , if you ever take your cat to New Cal you had better start learning some frog talk now. Even though most speak english very well, they wont speak it unless you try a bit of French first.

Same as us really.

Oh and nice looking boat Alain, hate to be paying for that shed though.

i didnt mean to be nasty sounding but rahter that i wish french had been an option at school my comment as i was made tongue in cheek hence the smiley, and i would love to read the commentary and yes some english photos would be good

I certainly did'nt get that impression Sean, interestingly enough I got good marks at school for french, can hardly speak a word of it now though.

I wish I had the option of Thai or Vietnamese, may have been a bit more handy for me.

Lovely pix, Alain. Looks like a great project and a hell of a lot of work. I am planning to build my next boat, but hopefully I will have enough money to have the someone else do most of the work.

PS: if you need English translations, just ask Google to translate the site. Couldn't be simpler.
