Some really
funny posts:
* "Doesn't look like genuine Coppercoat to me."
As fouled as it is, how could you possibly tell from a picture?
* "Coppercoat is about as useless as any other type of antifoul here.... "
Impossible to decipher what that means. A bare bottom would be the same?
* "However, as you point out, you would be slapping it on year, after year, after year, and that can get pretty darn expensive, not to mention the hassle. For us, and others I know, Coppercoat works very well, but when the fouling is bad, the fouling is bad."
I differ. If I leave a prop or uncoated
rudder down for a week in mid season, I have to dive and scrape off hard growth. A good 2-year paint knocks it back to an occation light scrub and no hard growth.

Common sense is antifouling boils down to biocide release, and something that last 5-10 years just isn't releasing enough to matter. Heck, if just having copper was enough my grounding plate wouldn't have hard growth... but it does. TANSTAFL. Too bad.
I've seen several boats removed Copper Coat to go back to Trinidad.

How long? 2 years should be pretty achievable. I've been doing that for over 20 years, never hauling in the winter.
