Boom Bag for N/A 23 footer

Beautiful sail the other night, put the (Boom sail bag/cover) across the hatch to dry out and a few minutes later looked up and ....GONE!

Am I out of $300 dollars for a sail cover with the snaps.....or can you all help me out with some cheaper materials.

I have a industrial sewing machine and can make the bag....do I have to use old cloth canvas that breaths?

Any suggestions....thanks

Captain Troy Maxwell
