Boat Yard Recommendation in Kemah TX
I am planning on servicing all of my the tapered cone seacocks with the help of the great write up on pbase. I called my marina yard and found out only contractors are allowed in the yard, owners are not allowed to do any work. Does anyone have a recommendation on where I can my boat hauled and I can work on it in Kemah TX?

To best of my knowledge, there are only two yards there. Seabrook Shipyard is only contractors. I forgot the name of the other, but I suspect rules are the same. There's a big yard in Galveston, but I know they didn't even allow owners to wax their boats on the weekend. Contractors only. I think you are out of luck.
That said, I've had good luck using OJ's Services at Seabrook Shipyard.

Clear lake marine center let me do my own work, as well as south Texas yacht services in watergate.
There is also the new yard next to legend point, but I don’t know anything about them.
If your mast is short enough hillmans is a good bet, but you’ve got to get under 146 on Dickinson bayou.

#1 on Clear lake marine, be careful going in and stay in the channel, its 5-6 ft. in a lot of the area

Re: Boat Yard Recommendation in Kemah TX
I, we, lots of us use Ben Miller, a contractor over at Seabrook. Only negative I ever heard about him (in 10 years) was actually about one of the guys he farmed some work out to, not him. Want to ask that he'll be doing the work or directly supervising. If so, you're probably in really good shape.
Try: two. eight. one - four. five. five - 1 0 8 5
Cheers, Pappy

Re: Boat Yard Recommendation in Kemah TX
I highly recommend Seabrook Shipyard and O.J's Marine a contractor who is located in the ship yard.
I just had a lot of work done on my boat there and am impressed with the professional approach.

But can you do your own work there?

Here's another vote for Clear lake marine center - though, as mentioned before, call ahead to get clear instructions about living up with the channel, as it's not totally clear.

Not at Seabrook Shipyard. Only contractors.
