Bird control for spreaaders - fishing line attachment ideas?

I want to install dyneema fishing line about 3" about the spreaders as a bird control measure, but my mast is CF and I don't want to drill more holes. I was thinking of using zip-tie mounting plates with VHB tape as an attachment at the mast end, but without a flat surface I'm concerned about it staying stuck.

Can anyone suggest better alternatives? (I'm not a fan of unsightly bird spikes.)

Hang up a dead bird in the rigging.

And replace as necessary.
Depending on climate, they last for a couple of months.
My favorite is a starling. Plentiful around here, they are at the top of the crapping chain.

I have a dead seagull "laminated" between 2 sheets of clear contact plastic. Has lasted about 6 mths. No birds on boat, but initially I had mays "fly overs" of squarking gulls.

Sorry about the holes, but tiny pad eye on mast, invisible fish line to shroud, secured with a double running hitch would get rid of cormorants and shags,....so who are befouling your boat?

The height above the spreader needs to be suited to whoever you wish to dissuade.

The dead bird trick does seem to work, but, yuck! Just make sure the bird lice have left first. Or, some friends reported success with a feather duster aloft..... "Oh, poor uncle george!" But they did say it works. Never tried it, mostly we move on before we become a target.

Depending on how your spreaders attach to the mast, you may be able to loop the line between the inboard end of the spreaders and then run the line out to the shrouds. If you do it on an angle, you could have one bunch of birds inboard and another species outboard. Variety is the spice of life.
