Bilge pump and switch mounting

I have a bilge pump I need to mount lower in the bilge under the engine. I have no way to get in there to mount it with screws or epoxy it in. Does anyone have a suggest what I could mount it on to stick under there. Everything I have tried floats on top of the water so the pump is not under where I need it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My take on this was to mount a diaphram pump up high and route a hose to the bottom of the bilge to take care of the normal water, then higher up, in a place I can get to is a high capacity centrifugal pump for the oh-oh moments.

If you can, mount the pump to some alloy strap and bend the strap in such a way that it sticks up above the pump. Then bolt or clamp the strap to something you can easily get at. This also has the advantage that you can easily remove the pump for cleaning.

Thank you for the advice, I shall follow it tomorrow. It always amazes me the amount of knowledge people have and are always willing to part with.

I did exactly that I used an aluminum stick 2 inches wide 1/8 inch thick and bent the end to hold the pump. I also mounted a bilge swich right above the pump and hooked it up to a bilge alarm. That way I will know immediately if I have a real problem with water Intrusion or a simple bilge pump failure issue. Best 75 $ I ever spent and piece of mind .
