best epoxy per dollar

okay west systems cost over a 100 per gallon. does anyone know of a good epoxy that is cheaper, mas epoxy is 60 per gallon plus shipping, which makes it cost almost the same.
i may go with MAS if no one has any other ideas and if i can find it cheaper

You didn't say where you're located. Shipping will affect total cost if you're looking to save. How much do you need?

Boatbuilder Central market their own brand "Marinepoxy" and it's pretty good stuff.

Boat Builder Central - products

The other place I've gotten good products from is Polymer Products on e-Bay.

Shop eBay Canada Store - Epoxy Resin Adhesive Coating Laminating UV Curing:: Glue, Coating

fgci.com

I have used their epoxies extensively for deck recoring and repair. They have all types of epoxies to fit all purposes and their prices are half (or better) of WEST and MAS. They also have a good technical staff that are pleased to have you pick their brains.

Actually, I just looked at their website and the prices are no longer posted. Probably due to the rapid changes in resin costs. So I can't say for sure anymore that they are less expensive than WEST or MAS.

I have used FGI (Fiber Glass International) R180 / H180 epoxy extensively for fiberglassing during the refit of my boat. It is fine to work with and seems to be as good as the West System epoxy, but cheaper.

Add another vote for Fiberglass Coatings Inc. Your Single Source for All Your Fiberglass Needs but also know that MAS is available at Boaters World (to save shipping). The MAS and FCGI's products are said to be better (non-blushing, less solids and fillers) by many 'experts'.

West is over $100 now? Gawd, I should have bought some futures in it! Looks like yachting really will go back to domain of the ultra wealthy.
