Re: Best color/colour Antifouling?

Black might be best for those embarassing moments when you're "showing your ass"!

Light blue is best because orcas and whales do not go for it.

Just don't pick White because that will show "White Privilege".
(apologies to those cruising who haven't seen the crash and burn of recent civilization)

Re: Best color/colour Antifouling?

We opted for black last time mainly because of the oil stains along the water line every time we park up a river in asia. Now we dont rub the anti fouling off trying to clean Nereids bum. I would suggest getting a colour close to your nearest stain problem.
Cheers
Ian

No, ..... it's a simpler trick with the big tidal ranges. That was Jewel Island, Maine.

Re: Best color/colour Antifouling?

Interesting no one has mentioned a particular colour being better to ward of the critters.
Have had some advice here that black antifouling absorbs so much light the barnacles won't attach.

Anyone had any experience with that? Or heard of it?

Certainly agree with black being a better colour for nasty harbours to cover the oil slick.

Anyone uses black now and getting better results?

Bye-and-large, the more copper and the faster it's pumped out, the more effective the paint. Light absorption has nothing to do with copper-based anti fouling paints. It's all about biocide loads and leach rates.
