Do I need to put barrier coat on my new rudders which are made in epoxy?

Yes. Epoxy is not waterproof over time, but it is more so than polyester. Even if you are dealing with a big rudder, this is not a big job.

I did it with Interlux on TWO big rudders, which I rebuilt with epoxy and heavy biaxial cloth.

It isn't Alejandro Ochoa, owner of Color Box is the importer for Interlux, AwlGrip and Alex Seal in Panama.

local cell 6614-7715 or aochoa at colorboxsa.com

p.s. I believe the barrier coat is also just epoxy, but it has some additives. You can use West System epoxy and mix it with similar additives that are sold separately.

cheers,
Nick.
