Barnacle Rid - Comments on Effectiveness?

I am looking at trying an electronic Anti-Fouling system on my mono fibreglass yacht. It is called "Barnacle Rid" and is made in Australia. It works by lowering two electrodes into the water when the boat is not in use. A protective field is created between the electrodes by the sophisticated electronic controller. The field is wide enough to encompass the entire submerged hull if one of the electrodes is placed at each end of the boat (bow and stern). The whole system consumes a maximum of only 1 Amp hour.
Has anybody got any suggestions or feedback on this product?

Essentially the system seems to use electrodes to create an EM field to protect your hull from fouling growth, but would not an EM field have an adverse effect on one's zincs?

I don't believe it is a magnetic field but rather actual Ultrasound which is an oscillating sound pressure wave.

According to their website, two to four copper electrodes are suspended from bow and stern and electricity creates a copper ion field which is large enough to cover the submerged portion of the hull. This in turn inhibits the growth or attachment of marine fouling.

Actually, I was questioning whether or not something like that would have an adverse effect on annodes since it does not appear to be an ultrasound system (unless I am missing something on their website).

Back on point: Any current in the water cannot be good for the anodes or metal parts of the hull. Fortunately for the health of growing Barnacle society the EM field will have no detrimental effects.

BTW - statement like "consumes 1A-h" is technically meaningless. Per day, perhaps? Then the current density in the water is minuscule. As likely to make the barnacles stronger.

That makes sense...I was confused with the internal units fastened to this inside of the hull.
