My mistake - I thought you put in new bearings, that is why I kept urging you to go to the manufacturer. Now the question seems easy - was there grease on them when you took them off?

It is probably unimportant in that the bearings should be such a fit as to not allow much grease in them anyway. Maybe a thin coat of Superlube or Moly Paste for the initial fitting?

Can you recommend a reliable Eskimo vendor? I've contacted the Japanese and Norwegians and they were quite rude. They think I'm from Sea Shepherd. Maybe a fat Ringed Seal as a substitute? What do you think, professor?
