Aqua Signal Series 43 How to Open, Bulb Replacement

There have been a few threads about the Aqua Signal nav lights. I thought this may be useful on how to open and replace the series 43. Need a very small screwdriver to carefully lift the plastic off the two catches.

I don't think it is made to have replacement bulbs but instead replace the whole unit. However the twin LED lights should last a long time otherwise would be expensive to replace.

Re: Aqua Signal Series 43 How to Open, Bulb Replacement

I got a spinnaker sheet underneath a series 43 light and broke the housing. The lamp unit is fine though.

I can't seem to source the part for the housing itself, only the series 41 replacement housings seem to be available. Has anyone had any luck?

I've no idea what you are talking about but they are apparently available - (at a price)

Have you tried Kent Marine? Kent Marine apparently is in France?

I hope you have deep pockets!

You can see in the original post what Dave has done is removed the lamp from the housing or frame if you will. I've broken the housing, but the lamp is fine. Just looking for a new one, should be much less than the entire light. The series 44 seems to share the same housing, but no joy there either.

Are you aware you can get plastic welded?

You can also DIY with a kit bought online.

Unhappy Re: Aqua Signal Series 43 How to Open, Bulb Replacement

I replaced all my navigation lights by Aqua signal Series 43 LED, hoping to have a reliable and troublefree solution for the coming 15 years. Quite expensive, looking good, but unfortunately the quality of the design is not what you would expect. The combined deck/steaming light was torn apart during a sail trip in 7 Bft. What was left was the empty housing.
The bicolor very quickly got damp inside, although it is supposed to be completely sealed. After 2 years the green light is still working, but the red is not. But you cannot repair anything as it is completely sealed. Very disapointing.
