I have recently moved a little bit away from dreaming with my purchase
of a South Coast 23. She seems to be a rather unknown design and I have not been able to find any active owners associations.
I currently have a hinged mast
step (which I really like) that was installed by the previous owner. I would like to add a halyard
organizer plate under this hinged step, but with the organizer, the bottom of the hinge and the top of the hinge, I will only have about one thread holding my turnbuckles to the shrouds!
Does anyone have a suggestion for the 'right way' to resolve this without replacing the running rigging
with all new wires?
I have considered grinding down the area under the mast
step or adding something to the turnbuckles. I am not sure what option will provide the strongest rig.
Thank you in advance for any advice!
