Re: Ablative Or Hard Bottom Paint?

Ablative paint on top of a hard paint has worked for us. We use two different colors so we are able to tell when the ablative has worn through to the hard. We have found the best paint to use is the paint used regularly by whatever yard we are at. We freshen the paint annually and take it down to gelcoat every fifth year. We always have the yard apply the paint but we typically hire a professional media blaster to remove the paint. Sometimes we will let the yard remove the paint if they have an experienced media blaster.
