i got this boat and trailer for a hell of a deal back in january and have been plugging away in between school ever since, just launched her last week, first time shes been in the water in 20 years...

story goes that it was owned by a guy who had restored it with his father (his dad was a boat builder) and they got it looking really nice 20 years ago but never launched it, then dad passed away and the boat has just sat...

have had it out 3 times now and all i can say is it is a dream to sail, what a sweet little boat, here are some pictures of the transformation...

Awesome! We loved our little Islander 24, but she never looked that great!

thanks, heres a list of everything i did:

new hatches
new bow pulpit
removed bracket from transom
cut and glassed for "inside outboard"
filled shaft long, transducer holes
filler rudder aperature
minor glass work
paint is interlux perfection and kiwigrip nonskid
removed every piece of deck hardware and rebeded
cleaned fuel tanks
new fuel system (3way switch and fuel water separator)
new seacocks trubolted on glassed in backing plates

all new plumbing for scuppers (2nd cockpit scupper added so it will drain on either tack)
new galley sink, faucet, plumbing and whale gusher foot pump

new spreaders, new running rigging, winches rebuilt

interior is all new with the exception of the 70's era cushions, i need to get some better pictures though.

up next is electrical system, all the lights and pumps are there, just needs to be wired from scratch and thats fun stuff, of course a little solar panel, all thats left after that that isnt new is the standing rigging
