Hi Geoff, I buy my Yanmar bits in Coomera near the Gold Coast. Depends where you are in Queensland. They are pretty good and don't mind giving advise either.

I have always found these guys to be excellent although I haven't used their services for a few years now. My experience was that they were consistently better priced (plus top shelf service) than most other Yanmar dealers. They ship anywhere in Oz and almost anywhere world wide.

Re: Yanmar Parts

I dealt with Minards for many years. Richard Minard has sold the business, and when I tried to buy parts from them a year or two ago I was not impressed with their attitiude or expertise. Ended up buying from a Northern Beaches Sydney supplier who I found on the internet. Quick service and very helpful.
Regards,
Richard.

Thanks for the update, I guess it had to happen, shame the new owners couldn't maintain the old level of service!

Re: Yanmar Parts

I needed a new fresh water pump for a recent 3YM30. It started leaking coolant after 250 hours!
Cant replace the seal, have to but the whole unit.
Best price in Oz was around $800 delivered.
Price from Torrensens around $300.
We were going to the states, so had it delivered there and brought it home.
The US dealers have geographic restrictions on delivery, so you probably have to ask someone you know in the Eastern USA to deliver it for you.

This is my fifth Yanmar. I am not impressed.

Re: Yanmar Parts

The single biggest problem with Yanmar engines is the parts distribution process. After Hurricane Ike, I got Yanmar to let me buy from Torrensen. They are WONDERFUL. At some point, someone complained, and now I have to go thru the idiots in Louisiana at Laborde. They don't even have a website to order from. When I need a new impeller and gasket, they had to have it drop shipped from Yanmar, as they didn't have gaskets in stock. Since it was drop shipped, they billed me for 10, as that's what is in the package.

Since it is a tractor engine, you might look at the part number and try using tractor parts.

I would NEVER repower with a Yanmar.
