My welder suggested to get a stainless version. Does anybody know where from?

Note: I had used the 2 1/2 " exhaust pipe of my old 60 HP Perkins, which was too small and had caused clogging of the turbo charger. After I installed a 4" exhaust pipe it worked, but then this crack happened. I heard from a charter fleet that they had a dozen cracked Yanmar exhaust elbows.
Thank you

Re: Yanmar Maintenance issue: Mixing Elbow

Just a heads up. I've done quite a bit of research regarding the U exhaust elbow for Yanmars. While stainless steel versions of the same thickness can be found on eBay for $155.00, adapter and hose fitting included, stainless is not recommended for normally aspirated Yanmars. This is because the stainless is constantly exposed to salt water and most importantly high heat. The consequence is the stainless will be affected by severe pitting. However, stainless can be used in turbo-charged engines because there is minimal exposure to salt water.

Now, the good news. These engines supposedly all use the same U elbow.
"U" style 2" For Engines;
2GM, 3GM, 2GMF,
3GMF,2GM20, 3GM30, 2GM20F, 3GM30F, 2GM20-YEU,
2QM15,2QM20,2QM 2GM20F-YEU,
3GM30-YEU, 3GM30F-YEU, 2YM15, 3YM20,
3YM30, 3HM, 3HMF, 3HM35, 3HM35F

Part number 124070-13521 is specified for my 2YM15. The cost from my local Yanmar service center is $188 + tax. As I considered my choices I realized 104214-13521specified for older Yanmars had the same suffix as the part number specified for my engine but is available for $112 and no tax.

To make a long story short, I learned both are from the same casting mould, made of the same material and the only difference is the hose fittings!

So, I ordered two 104214-13521 - no tax applied - and spent marginally more than it costs for one 124070-13521. Don't believe it? Here's proof.
