Yanmar Fuel Filter Spanner (Wrench) ???

Attached are pictures of a industrial adjustable spanner wrench. This is a small one that only goes to approximately 40 MM.
Probably most common current use is to attach fire hoses.

I agree with Lockie and boeing1. I've used the hammer and screwdriver, and been surprised at how easily the nut loosened.

I. Use the screwdriver and hammer tap,tap,tap. Always works hasn't done any damage.

I've got a 3YM30, and just go hand tight (albeit a bit more than 'casually hand tight'). Key is no leakage.

I have a Yanmar 2QM15 and I use the same method as Lockie for years. I never had any problem. I also replace the rubber seal frequently.

For 3jh5e is really handy and clean:

1 remove 4 fuel pipes
2. Unscrew fuel filter together with housing.
3. Take the whole element away and empty content in a bottle.
4. Screw back the element.
5. Apply wrench to undo filter

No spillage, clean 10 min job

I had not considered the "screwdriver" and hammer method for this application before this thread but given the number of posters who use it, I might well be joining their ranks.

Certainly I can see that it does work and especially so where access is limited.

Not a tracing but good enough to get you started on your business venture

Smaller OD is 61mm and larger OD is 64 mm. There are 12 "hills" and thus 12 "valleys" and they are the "same size". Their small sides are "straight" and the height is about 12 mm. Apart from the height, the other measurements are within 0.2 mm.

oh boy wottie... you are so VERY KIND to have provided these dimensions for me....

You never know... maybe I'll find a few minutes to experiment... If I WERE to find time... We're saying that the bigger of the two has a MAX dia of 64? Or 64+12+12= 88?
