Yanmar engine mounts - what's your experience?

We bought a boat last year with a brand-new Yanmar 3YM30 engine. There were only 4 hours on the engine, but it had sat for a year, and one of the brand-new engine mounts failed in that time.

It's not a Yanmar motor mount - it might be PYI.

Some folks would say, "The PBO should have used Yanmar mounts." But I have heard mixed reviews on the Yanmar mounts, saying the quality is not good and they don't last more than a couple of years.

What do you say? Should we replace them with Yanmar mounts, or some other brand? What's your experience with mounts for the Yanmar 3GM30 or 3YM30?

Thanks for that feedback. Your choice of the word "invest" is interesting -- for us, cost of the actual mounts is not an issue here. That's because the new engine is a little taller than the old one, and using the Yanmar mounts means rebuilding the beds. That is such a time-consuming and messy project that we'll pay whatever it takes to avoid it!

How about Poly Flex mounts? It looks like they use more sophisticated materials to achieve the same amount of cushioning, so they are lower than the Yanmar mounts.
