Yanmar. Dip stick

I have Yanmar 2GM20 engine and the dip stick rubber stopper has come adrift on the dip stick. Can any one tell me the length of the dip stick from the bottom to the rubber stopper and the length above the stopper o the top. The price of a new stick is $90 AUD which seems a it excessive. My plan B is to drain the sump and fill it with the 2 lt which is the sump capacity and set the stopper where the stick indicates full. Ant comments?

7-7/8"/ 200mm exactly to the underside of the stopper. Mind you I have a 3gm30, but the block and flat pan design is the same between the 2gm and 3gm so height should be the same.

From bottom of dip stick to the seating surface of the rubber stopper is 140 mm. I didn't measure the top part- sorry.

Where exactly did you measure from, the top or the bottom of the dip stick?
