Yanmar Crankase Pressure

Just curious....is there any thing else other than bad rings that would do that?

I picked up a running take out.....ran it on a pallet....fine no smoke.....put it in...now I have all kinds of pressure in the crankcase and lotsa smoke

there is the remote possibility of a cracked head / head gasket allowing combustion pressure back in through the push rod area
