YANMAR 60 TURBO idles but dies at higher RPMS

Had a similar problem and it was a loose clamp on a fuel line. Diesel would idle fine, but would stutter and stall at higher RPM when the fuel pump started sucking air through the loose clamp.

I had this problem with my Volvo MD17.

The rubber exhaust hose had delaminated on the inside, nearly blocking the pipe. The engine would tick over for ever, but open the throttle and it would stop after half a minute or so. The blockage was well down the pipe, and very difficult to see.

THANK YOU for all the help and suggestions everyone . He is up and running and I think it was dirt in the injectors ....not sure .
