boat is new to me (Freedom 39 Pilothouse)
has not been run in 3 years (until last week)
4JHE, normally-aspirated 4cyl @ 44hp
knocking and smoking a bit, but up and running (took a bit of work)
supply are OK, new filters etc
videos from yesterday:
need to check/adjust injection pump timing
PO had a guy remove and service
the IP, and engine
'didn't run right' after he reinstalled it
I am guessing he did not re-time it after re-installing
also want to make sure valves are good, and head
bolts re-torqued, before sea trial
she is on the hard
up in NH
1. anyone done IP timing on a 4JHE?
2. anyone done valves?
thoughts on any of those procedures?
experience with white smoke? pronounced knock?
any suggestions much appreciated
