Yanmar 4JH3E Kanzaki Trans Shifting

Hi Folk's,I,have a Yanmar 4JH3E 56Hp Coupled to a Kanzaki 2.62 Trans.The tran's was overhauled about 100 hours ago.The tran;s performs fine when running.My problem is shifting into reverse it is extreamly hard to shift into reverse.Shifting into forward is fine.I,disconected all cables and went directly to the shift lever at the tran's still stiff.Any Idea's or is this the way it is.

I have the KM35P trans. It should not be hard to shift into reverse, especially by hand. If the motor is not running it might be a little stiff but turning the prop shaft by hand allows it to drop in. They are cone clutches so there are no gears to engage.

I wish I could find a parts breakdown of the things. I've been searching for a couple years now.

There is an adjustment that has not been properly done. Also may mean you are not entirely in neutral when you think you are. I have a pdf of the service manual. PM me if you would like me to email it to you.
