changing oil via the dipstick only recovers approx 50% of the rated oil capacity. anybody found a way of recovering more, short of major modifications?

Re: yanmar 3ym30

On all engines I have cared for, I put a hose and valve on the pan drain. If necessary because of angle, I add a new pan drain. Then you can hook up any pump and drain 100%.
