I have two of those in a catamaran
, too. I've done a bit of work on them but havent taken the pumps off yet. Sounds strange that anything would be frozen up or need maintenance
after sitting for two years in a sheltered location. they're full of diesel
, which should still be okay and Diesel
fuel is a lubricant. Why do you think they need servicing? It also seems strange to me that both of them would have a problem there, when neither should.
What symptoms lead you to suspect both injector pumps?
Have you tried just bleeding the fuel system at the lift
pump and injector pump
intake to get the air out? I'd expect these engines to start right up. Also, are your compression
releases hooked up? that's the spring loaded linkage on top of the valve cover.
Do you have a copy of the shop manual? Not the four language operators manual, but the big tech manual with all the step by step removal
and reassembly instructions? It's excellent.
