Yanmar 3GMD22 to 3YM30 alignment

We are thinking of moving to a Yanmar 3YM30 from a 3GMD. The foot beds are the same between the two, so no problems there - the one difference I have seen is that from output of the transmission to the rear foot is a different distance (178.5mm(YM) vs 184 (GMD)). How can I take this into account without changing the mounts for the feet (or can I)?

thanks!

Pulling the shaft forward is the easiest thing to do....If there enough room between the front of the prop and the rear of the strut or final bearing. You only have to move about 5mm.

Or you might get a shaft coupling that is a bit longer than the original......

Doug - since it's an outdrive we are connecting to we can pull the shaft in. But a longer shaft coupling would do the job assuming I can find a good match.
