Re: Yanmar 3GM30F external oil line

I also had to use a mirror and took off the fuel pump as well. I don't have great side access on my westsail 32 as there are bulkheads a foot away from the engine on both sides.

It wasn't too bad. (Any engine work usually requires 4 letter words though).

Re: Yanmar 3GM30F external oil line

Just a suggestion:

I have found that sometimes oil lines can be replaced with flexible rubber lines such as for a grease gun. They can withstand huge pressures, have standard threads and will attach to simple T fittings etc. And the ready made ones are quite inexpensive. As well, it might be easier to install, and you might be able to re-route the line so it can be seen and serviced easier. It probably does not matter if the route it takes is any longer.

Cheers, RR.

Re: Yanmar 3GM30F external oil line

Rotten Ricky, I,too, am a fan of rubber hoses for oil. In my case, for installing an external oil filter that is easier to change out than the previously installed filter on my Yanmar 3GM30F. Click on pic to enlarge.
