Yanmar 3GM30F Breather Tube

When arriving to Colon Panama we had been experiencing oil in the bilge of one motor. I remember reading about tyhe breather tube being blocked, so I cleared, and the problem diminished. We put another 20 hours on the motors going to Las Perlas, and the second motor started displacing oil.

We are preparing to leave for Hawaii to tomorrow, and while checking filters, bowls, belts, fluids, etc. etc. I also cleaned the second motors breather, and the cloud of smoke seems to have disappeared.

While going back to the first motor I noticed a wee bit of oil weeping out of the oil fill cap again. I checked the breather tube, and it is completely clear on both ends. What else can be the problem? I have done a search, but can't find anything else related.......i2f

IIRC, there is a small baffle in the valve cover. Pop it off and have a look.

You mean the rectangle one in the rear corner? It has a metal flap in the center dividing two sections? If that is it it was perfectly clean.I am going outsaide to look again....be right back......i2f
