Re: Yanmar 2GM20 Lift Pump - Help!

Those electric pumps that JD use, are 'industrial strength' and should work perfectly well for you. They don't use a lot of electricity either. Repair kits for the mechanical pump are not hard to come by so my first choice would be to rebuild that, and leave all the tubing as it is. (BTW, I know a bit about these as I was a JD Field Tech Rep for a number of years)

This isn't my current experience

If are you aware of any parts or kits, please let me know.

I sort of assumed (perhaps naively) that parts would be simple to get but it seems the world has moved on and left me behind. Mind you, I haven't had to rebuild a fuel pump for 4 decades now

As posted earlier, tubing isn't an issue as at least on my 2GM20, it is all rubber.
And yes, the JD epump certainly "looked" bullet proof.

$167AU and in the big picture, not an real issue; however in the small picture, that is 5 times as much as one should expect to pay for diaphragm and valves.

OK, rant over

Not really any help but the 2gm20f and the 3GM30F use the same lift pump.

Re: Yanmar 2GM20 Lift Pump - Help!

I need a new fuel lift pump for my 2ym15. Has anyone tried one of the after market versions. They are about 1/3 of the price.

Re: Yanmar 2GM20 Lift Pump - Help!

Hi Wotname.
As far as I know the diaphragm is not replaceable without a fair bit of work. Out of curiosity I pulled one apart and to get the pivot pin out is not easy. The through pin is sealed on either end and must be removed to get the diaphragm assembly out.... not a push and twist type at all. Easy to do the valves though.
