Wiring Diagram for Mitsubitshi S3L2 engine

I have been looking for a wiring diagram for a Mitsubishi S3L2 engine I bought in a moment of need and now needs repair.

I have tried contacting Mitsubishi and they don't seem to understand what I want, or don't want to.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Wiring Diagram for Mitsubitshi S3L2 engine

I have a mess of wires going to 2 relays along with 2 hots coming off the solenoid.

I do not want to just dump the relays and wire it direct, not knowing what they had in mind with the relays.

thanks for your reply.

Mitsubishi is not much of a help. What is the engine HP? I ask because it may the same block as in my Westerbeke 30B3 and if so I have one. I also have a source for the Mitsubishi manuals.

It is a 28 hp. It started life as a generator motor off a large motor yacht that went bad, so the owner just replaced the whole thing. I bought the motor and dumped the generator.

Hope you can help.

It'll probably be wired by whomever made the generator, not Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi has no control over the control circuitry built by the end user.

Re: Wiring Diagram for Mitsubitshi S3L2 engine

Thanks, I guess the relays and extra wiring had to do with the generator and sensors. I am going to wire it myself.

Thanks for your help.

more likely one for the glow plugs, and one for the fuel solenoid emergency cut off from temp sensor and oil pressure senders.

was it a vetus generator?

I do not know what kind of generator it was. I just bought the motor. There surely would be a wire for the glow plugs, and possible one for the emergency shut off. I have about 5 or 6 wires that I would like to know what they are for.

yes, but it is shaky at best. I will have to replace it before I get underway.

My Westerbeke 8.0 has the same engine. It only has wiring for the start & charge circuit & the safety shutdown circuit, if you post some pics of your unit I may be able to help you identify what your wanting to find.

I'm considering buying a boat with a 42hp vetus. Done a pile of online research. The smaller vetus m3.28 is the marinized version of your Mitsubishi. Vetus online has all the parts docs and ops docs and wiring line diagrams. The vetus engine is stamped with your Mitsubishi model and is referred to in the operator manual so typical electrics will be identical.

It's harder to find Mitsubishi doc, but I have seen those as well - but they are all industrial applications so you have to do se translation. Hope that helps.
