Please people lets all differentiate between smoke and steam...with out this we have much confusion going on..

Steam is water vapor..it is not smoke...

Smoke is fuel created either white or black or anywhere in the grey scale between the two..it is not steam.

Its just as easy to use the corect term and not confuse people as it is to use the wrong one...Again if your not sure just smell it...color is to deceiving...it will make your life and people that are trying to help lives much simpler.

While you are sniffing around your exhaust wondering if you can smell fuel , if your eyes are watering, that is a sure sign of unburnt fuel in the air.

I have a yanmar 3ym30 590hrs and under load copious amounts of steam from exhaust.
Engine temp ok for short bursts.
Cleaned gunk out of saltwater injection elbow into the exhaust elbow and problem solved immediately
