Re: Where the Heck Does the Yanmar Internal Zinc for the Saildrive Go?

It's not that big a hole. Just replace it quickly!

Re: Where the Heck Does the Yanmar Internal Zinc for the Saildrive Go?

Just wanted to report back here on replacing that internal zinc.

First of all, I had to disconnect the exhaust in order to be able to get to it. It may be different on your boat, but on mine, the location is really inconvenient.

Second, I used the wooden plug, to plug the hole after I unscrewed it. It worked just fine with the boat still in the water.

Third, the head to unscrew the plug is 32mm

Finally, this is what my zinc looked like. Yikes!

I am guessing: the previous owner didn't even know it was there, so he never changed it.

Doesn't look bad to me, I changed mine in my generator the other day as I had forgotten about it, pulled the plug out, just a stub a zinc left.
I went too long
