Cool When fittings attack

im replacing a sherwood g65 water pump">raw water pump on a Perkins 4.108 and I'm wondering how to get the hose fittings out of old pump to put in new pump. there is not a hex area to put a wrench on just threads that come off the smooth pipe that hose clamps to.
2nd question is the studs that the pump slides onto came out with the nuts as i removed pump. Do i need to remove the nuts from the studs for reassembly to engine?
Thanks

For the studs,
Best practice would be to remove the nuts. Clean the thread on the studs and reinsert the studs with some high strength loct-tite thread locker.

As for the water pump fittings. I am not familiar with this pump, a photo would help. If you have to put pliers on the thread: wrap sandpaper around it and put you old dull pliers over that. It will do far less damage.
