Westerbeke vs MMD Exhaust Elbows

As proof that every action has a result, I cleaned my heat exchanger while anchored during a one week cruise earlier this month. When I snuck out Christmas Eve Day for a sail I discovered a leak at the Exhaust Elbow where the spent cooling sea water connects. Apparently the improved volume through the exchanger overwhelmed the partially blocked elbow...

Assuming i cannot clear it up on Friday, the needed part is a Westerbeke 33067 elbow. The OEM part is $300, the MMD is $170. Torresen says they come from the same factory. But having an inherent distrust for cheap knock-offs, I thought I would bounce this off the CF forum.

Anyone have experience with MMD parts?

I built one out of blk iron pipe,cost less than $100.Works fine,aprox 150 hrs & 1 yr.If you ck I think both of the ones you mentioned are Al.marc
