Westerbeke 4-91 Fresh Water Hose

I heard a "pop" and soon had smoke pouring from the engine bay. Turned out to be this hose:

Westerbeke 21498 Sailboat Supplies, Engine Parts and Boat Parts

Hate to spend $50 on a hose. Anyone replace hoses with automotive type preformed hoses?

Use hardwall exhaust hose cut to length or take your old hose to NAPA and they will match it up to a preformed radiator hose. They usually have a whole wall full, just a matter of finding the right one. Some stores will let you match it up yourself. Exhaust hose is stronger and will last longer, but harder to install. Boiling the ends makes it go on easier. If it can withstand hot exhaust and steam, a bit of hot coolant is no concern.

Napa is where I went and got one hose with enough curves to make 2 hoses. Never used exhaust hose, will it bend in a 90? Found out why it got hot, sea water or raw water is not coming out the exhaust so I suspect the water pump">raw water pump has quit pumping. Will open another linc on the pump.

Series 252 Corrugated Exhaust/Water Hose (with Wire) | West Marine

This looks like some exhaust hose that would work as I have 2 90 degree bends.
