Westerbeke 30B sputters when going from port to starboard tack

I was motor sailing to make up time during last trip. Everything running well, doing heal angles about 20-30 degrees. Engine was running smooth and good, but on a switch from port to starboard tack it sputtered a few times, and one time completely died. Restarted right away. Fuel tank is located on the port side, so it may have to have something to do with that. After a few seconds of sputter (lost RPM), it would run just fine.

Any ideas? Need to add baffles to the tank?

What is your fuel level when this happens?

Is the pickup tube center, port, starboard?

Fuel level was at least half full. Not exactly sure where pickup location is. I want to cay center of the tank, but not 100% certain. Boat is Sabre 34 with port offset prop, if that makes any difference. It was its first 450nm voyage under my command.
