Waterlock Removal

Good morning all,

I need to disconnect exhaust hose and pull the waterlock out to replace a waterheater (for access).

Any tips or tricks to complete this with out getting water everywhere?

4JH series Yanmar.

Thanks!

Re: Waterlock Removal

Just remove the hoses and pull the water lock out. There shouldn't be more than an inch or two of water in it.

Re: Waterlock Removal

Most of them have a drain plug near the bottom, in case they need to be winterized.

Re: Waterlock Removal

Thanks guys!

I didn't even think to look for a drain. It's one of those plastic Vetus looking ones, according to google image looks like it probably has a drain. I'll take a look.

Re: Waterlock Removal

They always have a drain, also if it's one with swiveling inlet and outlet, it may be easier to remove the inlet and outlet from the water-lock and leave the hoses attached to them (hoses are often stuck).

Cheers,
JM.
